Attacks like the one that struck Tel Aviv won't stop until Iran pays a serious price; pro-Hamas goons were at it again Thursday, this time shutting down Grand Central Terminal's main concourse; and Bethany Mandel slams Adidas for not only relaunching a sneaker from the '72 Munich Olympics, where Palestinian terrorists murdered 11 Israelis, but hiring virulently anti-Israel Bella Hadid to promote it. Israel's military has intercepted thousands of drones and rockets from Iran and its proxies — Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. But one slipped through Friday, striking Tel Aviv not far from the US embassy and rocking the Jewish nation. Yemen-based Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, which left one person dead and at least 10 injured. An IDF spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said the drone was detected but not attacked, and an investigation is under way to figure out why. Israelis understandably see a successful strike on Tel Aviv, Israel's second-largest city, as a frightening development as it continues its war against Hamas in Gaza. But it's naive to think a defense system — any defense system — can eliminate every single drone, missile and rocket before it does damage, particularly when large numbers of them are fired. Hezbollah fired 65 rockets into Israel on Friday alone. To counter such attacks, Israel will have to confront the source of the problem: Iran, which controls groups like the Houthis and supplies them with weapons like the drone that struck Tel Aviv. Alas, President Biden has been protecting and funding Iran. But until the Islamic Republic pays a serious price for its actions and those of its proxies, Israel should brace for more such attacks. Anti-Israel protesters continue to inflict misery on Americans with seeming impunity. Their latest stunt: getting the main concourse at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan shut down during rush hour Thursday over security concerns. Some of the goons were arrested in the "Flood New York for Gaza" protest organized by the pro-Hamas group Within in Our Lifetime, but it's unlikely they'll suffer meaningful penalties, given New York's leniency with such protesters. The march then proceeded south, growing in size to about 1,000, many with their faces masked. These hooligans have been harassing, terrorizing and disrupting the lives of innocent Americans ever since Oct. 7. Their masks and keffiyehs make them more threatening and make it harder to prosecute them (which is why it's so obscene that New York lawmakers have so far refused to ban the masks). And just as the attacks on Israel won't stop until Iran (which, incidentally, is believed to fund protests like this) suffers serious consequences, neither will these goons be stopped until they're forced to pay a steep price for their outrageous deeds. Bad enough that Adidas decided to relaunch its 1972 Munich Olympic sneaker. But to hire Hamas defender Bella Hadid to promote it is beyond the pale, fumes Bethany Mandel at The Post. Palestinian terrorists murdered 11 Israeli athletes and coaches during those Olympic games. "Nobody in their right mind would feel nostalgia for the 1972 Olympics." Amid criticism, the company now says it'll revise its ad campaign. But hiring feverishly anti-Israel Hadid to promote the blood-red shoe "was perhaps the perfect fit for a company founded" by Adolf ("Adi") Dassler, a former member of the Nazi Party. "Hadid and Adidas deserve each other," scoffs Mandel. "And loud and proud antisemites have a new shoe to proclaim their Jew-hatred, in bright red — perfectly matching the Jewish blood that ran through the streets of Munich in 1972." Read more |
