As you may have heard by now, history was made on Thursday afternoon.

A jury of 12 men and women found Donald Trump guilty on 34 felonies related to a payment he made in 2016 to bury a tabloid story about his extramarital affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

This jury determined that Trump falsified business records eight years ago, illegally using campaign funds to influence the Presidential election by ensuring the public would not find out about said affair.

Trump — the first former United States President to have been convicted of a felony — will be sentenced for his crimes on July 11.

Naturally, there has been plenty of reaction to this shocking verdict.

We weren’t exactly surprised, for example, to read a Tweet from former Minnesota Senator Al Franken that said in part:

This is a great day because justice prevailed; Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts. But a sad day because we have a former president who committed several crimes.

However, even as seasoned followers of the celebrity gossip universe, the following has taken us aback:

Anna Duggar ALSO Tweeted about the verdict.

“Who knew it only took twelve votes to prematurely deliver the win for a presidential election?!?!” the mother of seven wrote on May 30, adding the hashtag, “Trump Has Won.”

Duggar is implying here that a significant number of American voters will see Trump has a martyr and therefore vote him back into the Oval Office in November due to this legal decision.

Sadly, she may be correct.

Instead of focusing on Duggar’s message, though, which is shared by a number of other political observers, we have to focus on the messenger here.

Anna Duggar had not sent a Tweet for two years prior to this statement.

She previously expressed endless support for her husband Josh Duggar, who was found guilty in December 2021 of child pornography possession after he downloaded photos and videos of minor children from his work computer.

Josh is currently serving more than 12 years in prison.

Aside from his heinous crime, Josh confessed years ago to cheating his wife with women he met on an adultery-based website… and also to molesting his own sisters when he was a teenager.

No one has quite been able to figure out why Anna remains married to this man.

A majority of individuals have felt sorry for her, however, assuming she has no financial means (and seven young kids!) to walk away from the Duggar family and that she has been threatened numerous times by Jim Bob Duggar.

And this may be true.

But Anna may also have lost whatever sympathy she had garnered over the years by choosing the Donald Trump verdict as the subject over which she has broken her social media silence.

“And also to put your child-abusing husband in jail! Go figure,” one user tweeted in response to Anna’s remark.

Meanwhile, another added, “Says the woman whose spouse is a convicted child abuser!”

It’s true. We can now use definitives to describe both Trump and Josh Duggar, thanks to these jury deliberations.

You may make up your own mind about her, but Anna Duggar has chosen to publicly support two adulterers, one of whom has been in possession of child pornography and another who broke the law in order to cover up an affair with a pornography star.

Both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have declined their Met Gala invitations. And the world is sad/heaves a collective sigh of relief.

After taking weeks to nest with Travis out of the spotlight, the Eras superstar got back to work and Taylor Swift dropped a double album.

This is a huge time for Taylor’s career. And, in between football seasons, this is a major time for Travis.

So why are they thumbing their noses at the Met Gala instead of showing up together? They have very good reasons.

Turns out,as TMZ reports, both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce RSVP’ed “no” to the biggest celebrity fashion event of the year.

Notably, Taylor and Travis received separate invitations. So this would not have been a case of Taylor bringing Travis as her Plus One.

So they both, separately, turned it down. That’s not quite the same as Taylor turning it down for both of them.

Why did Taylor Swift turn down the Met Gala?

No one needs an excuse to turn down an invite, even though the star-studded Met Gala is a charity event. However, Taylor has a solid reason.

The 2024 Met Gala takes place on May 6.

Taylor resumes her Eras World Tour on May 9 — that same week. She’ll need to travel to Europe and get everything set up in France. Especially because it’s rumored she has to work in a whole new Era into the set list.

Yes, it’s looking very plausible The Tortured Poets Department will be included for the first time in her first show back. And one does not simply slip in new music. The Eras tour is a very precise production.

In short, she’s skipping the Met Gala to make sure her fans are better served!~

Why did Travis Kelce turn down the Met Gala?

Unlike Taylor, Travis’ professional obligations are (mostly) on pause. One of the many football facts that Taylor’s fans have learned against our will is that the season ended before the Super Bowl and will not resume until late this summer.

So while Travis might be doing endorsements and other projects, he won’t need to grace any sportsball fields with his presence the week of the Met Gala. You might’ve thought so given the big pay raise he got to play for 3 more years, but no.

The most likely explanation for Travis’ absence is that he plans to travel to Europe to support Taylor as her Eras World Tour continues. He already said as much.

They may have a shared reason for turning down the invite

From the moment that the public first linked the two, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been one of the most famous couples on the planet.

Taylor of course is a household name on multiple continents. And Travis was very well-known within the subculture of sports fans.

However, they have yet to make a “red carpet debut” of any kind. They’ve vacationed together and embraced on the field of the Super Bowl. But, if they attended the Met Gala arm-in-arm, it would be a major relationship milestone.

The Met Gala will still be a star-studded spectacle

Even without Taylor Swift and her athletic arm candy, the Met Gala will boast big names — including both fan-favorites and some exciting newcomers.

Taylor would be a welcome sight. So would Travis. It would be fascinating to see if Travis would stick to the prompt or pull a “looking camp right in the eye” ridicule-worthy flop like Karlie Kloss did in 2019.

As Zendaya always makes a splash at the event dubbed “the Oscars of fashion,” it’s thrilling to know she’ll 100% be attending this year.

Each year, a selection of celebrity co-chairs is appointed by Vogue’s Anna Wintour to serve alongside her.

And a host can not miss her own party!

This marks a delightful comeback for the Euphoria star, who has not been on the red carpet for the biggest NYC of the season since 2019.

Why Tom Holland Won’t Be At 2024 Met Gala With Zendaya

You see, the Met Gala always takes place on the first Monday in May. In 2024, that means Monday May 6.

Starting this spring, Tom Holland will star as Romeo in Jamie Lloyd’s new production of Romeo and Juliet at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London.

Tickets for the production sold out within minutes, as fans are dying to see Tom act up close and in person.

The production runs from May 11 to August 3, meaning his opening night is 5 days before the Met Gala.

Now, is it physically possible for him to do both? Of course! A flight from London to NYC is 6-7 hours. Nothing like flying from Tokyo to Las Vegas. (Right Taylor Swift?!)

But will his schedule allow? That’s the real question.

It would be a real shame to miss a beautiful night, but our spidey senses are suggesting he won’t have the time to get away.

Besides, he’s got a lot of eyes on him for this show – and not just fans!

Earlier this week, Prince William stopped by James’ Place in Newscastle, a male suicide prevent center, and was asked at one point about his wife and kids.

The question came in the wake of Kate Middleton having been diagnosed with cancer.

“We’re all doing well, thank you,” the Prince of Wales replied. “We’re all doing well.”

Now, however, we have a reason to think this may not be the case.

Speaking to The Telegraph a couple days ago, Amaia Arrieta — the designer behind many of the looks worn by the spouses’ kids through the years — said something that has gone extremely viral.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment. I think they are going through hell,” the fashion maven said of Kate and William, adding:

“I hope they will be back. It’s really personal.”

This revealing quote has left many observers of the Royal Family quite concerned.

Amaia went on to say how honored she feels to have helped dress the royals… ever since Prince George, 10, wore her brand’s corduroy shorts in a 2014 Christmas photo.

More recently, Princess Charlotte was pictured in the designer’s checked skirt on Mother’s Day — yes, we’re talking about the photo that sparked a certain editing controversy.

“Dressing the royals gives me so much pride, I really do care about how they look,” the designer told the Telegraph.

“They have put the traditional and classic way of dressing children on the map.”

That’s great and all, but focus is now entirely on how Middleton is feeling these days.

In late March, Middleton appeared in a video to deliver a self-written speech that confirmed her unfortunate cancer news.

Post-operative tests from her “planned abdominal surgery” in January revealed that “cancer had been present,” prompting her to start chemotherapy, she explained at the time.

Referring to the news a “huge shock,” Middleton said that she and her husband “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.

“But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”

We don’t know a lot about Kate Middleton’s cancer treatment because she and her loved ones have said very little about the star’s health over the last several weeks.

But Kate’s diagnosis came weeks after her father-in-law, King Charles, announced on February 5 that he was also undergoing treatment for cancer.

There’s a lot going on these days throughout the United Kingdom.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” the palace said in a statement back then.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.

“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual.”

As previously reported, Jen Tran will make history in the near future.

Why?

Because she has been named the next Bachelorette, becoming the first Asian-American in history to land the role.

ABC made the announcement in late March, with Jesse Palmer interviewing Tran weeks after she was eliminated as a contestant on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor.

We’ve now learned, however, that Tran was not the network’s first choice.

“I was offered the role,” Maria Georgas said on the May 1 episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.

“I mean, it was mine until I said it wasn’t. And yeah, it became very overwhelming to the point where I had to decline.”

Georgas also appeared opposite Graziadei, advancing all the way to his final four aspiring wives this past winter.

In this revealing new interview, the reality star said the casting decision was so “set in stone” that she had even went ahead with fittings.

However, at some point in March, Tran was confirmed as the lead of season 21 of The Bachelorette.

“She was one of my closest girls in the house, and she was always verbalizing how badly she wanted this,” the executive assistant from Ontario Georgas explained.

“And when everyone around me was so supportive of me being in this position and everyone wanted this for me, I kind of took a second and was like, ‘Why am I not happy? Why am I not excited about this?’

“And it took me realizing that it’s just not my time, where I was like, ‘Guys, respectfully, I need to decline. I need to take a step back.'”

Georgas went on to say that she was familiar with what being The Bachelorette would entail, having watched Graziadei take on pretty much the same gig… and it just wasn’t for her.

“I was not in the right headspace for this,” Maria said on the podcast.

“Because I know the extensive process it was to be on the show, right?

“So having a bunch of guys do the exact same thing and they’re there for me, I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. It was hard for me to jump right back into it, honestly.”

We had previously heard the rumor that Maria Georgas was ABC’s first choice to be The Bachelorette.

But this is the first time she has talked about it in public.

Georgas thinks Tran will be “the most perfect bachelorette,” adding that she needed “time off” from the spotlight and concluding on this topic as follows:

“What people saw on their screens was only the half of what I kind of went through in the house.

“Did I have time off before it aired? Yes. But … I was so anxious throughout the whole thing. And I get it, it would have been my own show, it would have been me having more control over things.

“But again, it’s so isolating being in there. And I would have to give up my phone — not my freedom, but having to be alone in that, I wasn’t comfortable.

“I wasn’t just mentally prepared for it.”

Justin Bieber has given fans a new reason to be VERY concerned about his well-being.

Over the past few months, the singer has seemed especially fragile and emotional, with Coachella attendees remarking just a few days ago how gaunt and disheveled Bieber looked to be on stage.

The surprise appearance at this music festival came amid rumors that Justin’s marriage to Hailey Baldwin is also in trouble.

In March, an insider claimed the spouses were on the verge of separating.

This sort of chatter has died down of late, but that doesn’t mean Bieber is in an especially positive place.

Late last week, in a prime example of what we mean, Bieber shared a photo on Instagram in which one tear was dripping down his cheek.

The 30-year-old artist did not provide any additional context about his emotional moment, but also shared a number of performance photos via this same online carousel… including a couple of him on stage and a blurry pic of what seemed like marijuana.

“A pretty crier,” Hailey wrote on Sunday in response to the most stark and shocking picture.

To reiterate, we don’t know why Justin was crying. And we’re glad to see he has the support of his wife.

“Justin and Hailey are continuing to support each other and help one another get through more difficult times as they always have,” a source told Entertainment Tonight a short time ago.

“They are making an effort to do things that will help them create a bigger and brighter future.

“They are remaining committed to their faith and trying to stay positive. They are hopeful about the future and doing things to better themselves.”

Again, we’re so glad to hear that.

The truth behind Bieber’s state of mind these days may have a lot more to do with a certain medical condition than anything in his romantic life.

In June 2022, Justin told folks that he’s been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of the patient’s ears.

“It is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” Bieber said back then. “As you can see, this eye is not blinking.

“I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move.”

We can only imagine the physical and emotional pain this has caused Justin for two years.

Thankfully, Hailey has made it clear she isn’t leaving his side.

“Just FYI, the stories and constant ‘blind items’ I see on TikTok are 100% of the time wrong,” Hailey wrote on her Instagram Story in March.

“Made out of thin air…Come from the land of delusion…So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they’re always false. sorry to spoil it.”

Britney Spears is “broke” and “completely dysfunctional” amid a shocking mental health crisis, claims one insider.

News of the pop icon’s decline comes courtesy of TMZ, who reports that Britney has been spiraling since the end of her conservatorship.

According to the site, Britney is living an “isolated” existence these days, and friends and family are worried about her mental health and her finances.

“She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship, and the restrictions were there to protect her,” says one insider, adding:

“She’s not protected anymore.”

The insider claims that Britney has been taking lavish trips on a regular basis, and her savings are greatly depleted as a result.

Brit’s favorite spot is French Polynesia. TMZ reports that she retreats to the island chain every “month or two” and spends nearly $1 million for each excursion.

The site reports that Britney also travels to Hawaii “almost monthly” by herself, dropping roughly $350,000 on travel and luxury accommodations every time.

The insider claims that Britney has been chipping away at her $60 million fortune for several years now, and there are fears that she’ll soon be completely broke.

“She cannot afford this. She had $60 million when the conservatorship ended, and she’s now where the conservatorship started — in danger of going broke,” says the insider.

The source alleges that Britney is “completely dysfunctional” and suffers frequent, “shocking” mood swings.

Britney Continues To Blasts Her Family

The former pop superstar has not yet responded to the allegations about her finances and her mental health.

Last night, however, she lashed out at her parents in an Instagram post that has since been deleted.

In the post, Britney complained of a back injury and suggested that she had been “hurt” by members of her family and denied “justice.”

“I was actually right about nerve damage in my back !!! I have to get acupuncture [sic] every day of my life now !!!” she wrote alongside a bathroom mirror selfie.

“If people only knew how ive had to crawl to my own door one time !!! My family hurt me !!! There has been no justice and probably never will be !!!” the caption continued.

“The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!!” she added.

It’s unclear what prompted Britney to delete the post.

In another recent post, Britney revealed that she’s retired from the music industry. But fortunately, she still has several other revenue streams available to her.

Meet The New Mufasa

Mufasa promises to share the titular lion’s origin story for the first time, depicting his childhood with his rival brother Scar. Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. will voice the younger versions of Mufasa and Scar, respectively.

Aaron Pierre is a relatively unknown actor, starring in projects like the movie Old and the series, Genius. However, this is just the start of his journey with Disney, as he’s also poised to be in the revival Marvel movie, Blade.

Kelvin Harrison Jr. is also a fairly new actor to the scene, with his credits including films like Luce, Monsters and Men, and It Comes at Night.

James Earl Jones voiced Mufasa in both the 1994 original film and 2019 remake. Meanwhile, Jeremy Irons voiced Scar in 1994 and Chiwetel Ejiofor took over in 2019. No official word if James will reprise his role this time. At 93, he may be looking to sit this one out.

It’s something Meri Brown has written on Instagram for many months.

But t’s now a lot more than a saying for this veteran Sister Wives cast member.

It’s a way of life — and also a brand new business.

Late this past week, Brown informed fans and followers that has launched a company titled — perhaps you’ve guessed it by now — Worthy Up.

“[Worthy Up] has been in the works for a while, and it’s so fun to see it finally come to fruition! I’ve spent the better part of the past decade taking a good look at myself and figuring out who I am, what I want, and where I’m going. I had to Worthy Up,” Meri shared via the company’s Facebook page on Friday, April 26.

“This community is a place where I will share my personal experiences of growth and hope to support you in your journey, too.”

Earlier that same day, Brown teased the new project on social media, causing fans to buzz with guesses about the possible announcement.

“Curious??” the mom of one captioned a blurred-out image, adding a wink face emoji and a “Worthy Up” hashtag. “4 p.m. MST today.”

Those who have been following Meri’s social media journey over the past year or so have read many inspirational messages from the TLC personality.

Meri and Kody Brown terminated their marriage in January 2023, following a lengthy period of dissatisfaction — and zero romance.

“You don’t need to earn anything, prove anything, or be anything other than who you are,” Meri wrote at one point, for example.

“You deserve love, you deserve to be seen and heard, and you deserve to exist as you are and in your full glory, simply because you’re YOU!”

This is the sort of post observers had tried to impart on Meri for years… after she insisted on staying with Kody despite the father of 17 making it clear he was totally over her as a romantic partner.

“We all have moments where we feel unworthy, or feel like we have to prove something, or even worse, allow other people’s opinions or pressures of the world around us, to dictate who we are,” Meri added in September.

“Let’s stop that!”

In December 2022, Meri wrote:

“If you don’t want to make waves, keep on being mediocre. Do the thing that everyone else is doing. Seek everyone else’s opinion and validation. Do what everyone else thinks you should do.

“Or … Do your thing. Do your thing in your own time and on your own terms. Let them judge you. Let them talk about you. Let them create their own ‘stories’ about you.”

Despite the end of her union, meanwhile, Meri has remained quite positive any time she addresses the public.

Just a few days ago, she acknowledged her failed marriage in this manner:

“34 years ago today, I got married. 34 years ago was the start of this family that so many of you have come to love or, well, not so much. Yes, I know full well that we are a very polarizing topic.

“At that time, and in the many years following, I never anticipated a divorce was in my future.

“I don’t regret my marriage, and I don’t regret my divorce.”
