| The ultimate wealth is having the free time to live how you want to live.― M.J. DeMarco Hi friend, I love a book called The Millionaire Fastlane and it influenced my mindset on wealth big time. According to the author M.J. Demarco, there is a 'secret sauce' to making money. He calls it- The Five Commandments [of Wealth] - CENTS - Control: higher control over your work means you're on the path to wealth. When you work for someone else, you have very little control over your work, pay, or anything. But when you're working for yourself, you have greater power in all aspects.
- Entry: A higher barrier to entry means a higher chance of creating wealth. E.g. becoming a writer is a low barrier to entry, but becoming a writer in a specific niche has a high barrier (hence you get paid more).
- Need: This is something I've used across my offerings. You get paid when you solve, not because you want to get paid (because who doesn't want money lol)—higher need for your solutions, higher money to be made.
- Time: If you need to sell your time to make things run, it's a job and not a business.
- Scale: If you can't scale it, you can't grow.
My solution - an Internet business As someone who's been running it for 2.5 years, here's my take on CENTS: - you have full control over your work
- you can choose a niche to specialise in
- you can ask your audience for problems and help them with your products
- you can employ software and automate most times
- scaling doesn't require capital or logistics, only a few clicks!
Running an internet biz literally fits in all five commandments. Used properly, money buys freedom, and freedom is one parcel in the wealth trinity: family, fitness, and freedom.― M.J.
