She took these eight short steps.
| Hi friend, I haven't emailed you since the weekend because I thought you'd be exhausted after the campaign I ran for Internet Business Mastery, hehe. I just had 3 calls for it early this morning, but now I'm set to hit the gym in a bit. I'm drinking a banana-blueberry smoothie as a pre-workout at the time of typing this. Anyhoo, I wanted to tell you how one of my students got her first freelancing gig last week. She's a part of my cohort called Side Hustle Pro which started 5 weeks ago. Here's exactly what she did: - We sat together and created her Upwork profile. I told her all the tips and tricks that helped me make $$$$$.
- She applied for a few gigs but got no response. This is normal.
- She has also revamped her LinkedIn and we are working together on her content there which is now getting really good traction 📈.
- She then got one response but the guy seemed hesitant. 😕
- She did something extraordinary - met him. This is because she knew Germans prefer in-person conversations as compared to online stuff and they both live in Berlin so it was easier.
- The client was startled! He told her that their conversation had given him even more ideas 🤯
- She sent him a detailed proposal.
- They closed the deal. 🤝🏼
Sometimes, going the extra mile (in this case, quite literally) helps you score a project. For her, this is her first-ever freelancing gig. On a side note, we are also working together for her to have a consulting gig. These will be three sources of income as a 23-year-old - how cool! I'm excited to see how it goes :) Try it out, maybe?
